Course Description
The American Academy of Pediatrics has established guidelines for the protection, promotion and support of breastfeeding, to be used by practitioners and healthcare facilities. These guidelines provide a carefully considered and scientifically validated plan for assisting new families in feeding and nurturing their babies through breastfeeding. This 3-day workshop explores the rationale behind these guidelines and provides the fundamentals for all healthcare staff to manage early breastfeeding issues with accuracy and confidence. This workshop focuses on prenatal and hospital care and is an ideal staff training for The Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative.
