This 13-hour, online program provides the education cornerstone for hospitals to pursue the designation of "Baby-Friendly" and is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year to anyone who meets the system requirements. This course explores the rapidly changing role of all healthcare professionals in caring for pregnant and new families and is designed to help hospitals and communities provide the basics of early bodyfeeding care, with a focus on implementing The Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding.

Learning Objectives
- Identify barriers to effective communication about infant feeding.
- Explain how birthing practices, skin-to-skin care, and early routines influence bodyfeeding success.
- Describe key factors affecting human milk production and strategies to maximise supply.
- Demonstrate correct positioning, latch, and use of the LATCH score.
- Recognise the feeding needs of premature babies and strategies for support.
- Explain the importance of human milk and the risks of supplementation with substitutes.
- Analyse marketing tactics used by baby food industries and their impact on infant feeding.
- Evaluate infant sleep recommendations and respond to requests for formula or nursery care.
- Discuss pacifier use, infant feeding cues, and early feeding challenges.
- Develop a care plan for nipple pain, engorgement, infection, and overall lactation support.
