Lactation Support and the LGBTQAI+ Communities

Education: Free
CERPs: $40
Thanks to grants this education is free!

This 4-hour course equips healthcare professionals with the knowledge and tools to provide inclusive and effective lactation support to families.
This course provides a comprehensive approach to providing culturally competent care for the LGBTQAI+ communities. It addresses their unique needs, emphasizes the importance of inclusive language and communication, acknowledges the challenges faced by the community, explores the biological process of lactation in males, outlines protocols for inducing and increasing milk supply, highlights the significance of safe and trusting communication, ensures inclusivity in forms and information, and ultimately outlines steps to create a welcoming clinical environment.
It is a challenging subject to which I have to dedicate more to be more educated about it.

This was one of my favorite course from Evergreen so far- I wish it were mandatory for all healthcare providers.
I learned a lot in this course! I'm excited to practice what I learned to provide the best care I can at work.
