This 2.5-hour course equips you with the knowledge to safely and effectively use supplemental feeding methods alongside chestfeeding. We'll explore the appropriate use of breast pumps to express milk and discuss various supplemental feeding devices like tubes at the breast/chest. Learn about the advantages and disadvantages of cup feeding for supplementing bodyfed babies. We'll delve into the use of nipple shields, exploring situations where they might be helpful. The course also discusses the rationale behind limiting pacifier use in the early days of breastfeeding to promote successful latch and milk production. By mastering these techniques, you'll gain the confidence to support families in their breastfeeding journey.
